My friends, the Cool Cavemen band, are on the way to complete the sound recording phase of their next LP. Now come the time to think about the CD artwork, and to package the music they’ve choose the standard Jewel Case format.
Jewel Cases are made of a part which hold the CD itself. This part is usually black and opaque and it remain visible on the left of the front side when the CD case is closed. Sometimes this black strip is made of transparent polystyrene, which let you see the reverse of the back cover. You can use this to make some easthetic design. So I’ve created some templates in Inkscape, because all templates I found on the web didn’t taken care of that transparent strip.

Hey man these are very nice and came in handy when finishing the layout on a new record. Might I suggest that you include the URL and copyright info on these templates and maybe even expand the legend for the “Ready to Print” templates so its easier to tell what is the difference between the red and black lines. Is there some way these could be added to a template repository for inkscape?

As you can see in SVG metadatas, these templates are released under a Creative Commons by licence. So you are free do to whatever you want with these documents as long as you attribute the work to me.
I’ve updated the “Ready to Print” templates to include a legend and use the v3.0 of the CC-by licence (instead of v2.0).
I’ve added direct links to these templates on my “Ready to Print” post. Is it what you suggested ?
I don’t know if there is a template repository for Inkscape. But if you find one, I’ll be happy to contribute and share my work.
